  35. Questar Productions releases freeware IFF ZBUF saver Plug-in for
  36. Newtek's Lightwave 3D v4.0 (with source!)

  39. Questar Productions is making available their new plug-in for Newtek's
  40. Lightwave 3D Rendering package at no cost! This Image-Filter class plug-in
  41. will save Lightwave's Z-Buffer (pixel-distance) information to a file using
  42. the IFF-ZBUF file format. This information can then be read into other
  43. programs that support the ZBUF format (such as Questar's World Construction
  44. Set), and used to perform easy compositing of images from multiple 3D
  45. programs.

  47. In addition, Questar is also releasing the source code to the Lightwave
  48. plug-in.

  50. "We found that there was a lack of non-trivial examples of Lightwave
  51. plug-in source-code, so we decided to make our source available to others.
  52. We believe this will help other first-time plug-in developers get started,
  53. and help the Lightwave third-party developer program grow." said Chris
